Rapport at Espoprofessioni – Lugano

Rapport videos were shown at Espoprofessioni, an exhibition taking place every year in Lugano and aimed at spreading information about vocational training opportunities in Ticino Canton and in some other areas of Switzerland.
Participants in the exhibition feature schools, educational and training associations and institutions. Visitors can talk to apprentices, students, teachers and experts to gather information and ask questions. Moreover, wide range of audiovisual and written informative material concerning vocational training is offered to visitors.
The exhibition’s main target audience consists of middle school students from the Italian speaking part of Switzerland, who are approaching the end of compulsory education programme, and will soon have to decide whether to continue studying, or to choose a vocational training option.
Besides, Espoprofessioni targets the students’ teachers and parents, who play a key role in facilitating them taking such an important decision.
Informative material about Rapport was available in the exhibition and the video interviews produced by partner organisations were shown.

Rapport meets Swiss school teachers

DSCN0800 On Friday, 31st January 2014 Sara took part in the meeting of the teachers of the middle and high school collegio Papio , in Ascona (Switzerland).

The meeting was a precious opportunity to introduce Rapport to the teachers and schools in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland.

Sara shortly described the main features of the project, its objectives and the partnership; then, all the videos were introduced and one sample video interview was shown, to provide participants with a clear idea of the project’s final products.

Now teachers are aware of the free and effective tools available to them to act on early school leaving, and we can start a long lasting cooperation with them.

Rapport poster at ICERI 2013

foto_poster

Rapport was presented yesterday, 19th November 2013 at ICERI 2013, during a poster session.

ICERI 2013 is the fifth International Conference of Eucation, Research and Innovation, and was held in sunny Sevilla.

The poster session and the whole conference was an international hub of exchange, dialogue and collaboration about innovation in education.

We learnt that early school leaving is a priority issue in several countries all over the world, and that the common cause of such phenomenon is the lack of motivation. A project like Rapport, bringing real life experience and role models into schools and curricula, can thus give a relevant contribution to lowering early school leaving.
